Kathmandu : The technical proposal on construction of Nagdhunga to Sisnekhola tunnel way has been approved and process initiated for opening financial proposal.
With the approval of six technical proposals for the project, preparation is on to open the financial proposal, said Nagdhunga tunnel way construction project. One company from Japan and five from China had submitted the technical proposals, said project director Shyam Kharel, adding that the financial proposal would be evaluated to ensure mobilization of contractors by coming mid May.
The cost of the tunnel way stretching to 5.56km distance is estimated at Rs 22 billion. Among the cost, Rs 5 billion would be spent as compensation to those to be affected by the project.
The compensation of the land acquired for the project has begun at Ward Nos 1, 2 and 3 of Chandragiri municipality, Kathmandu. So far, Rs 2.40 billion has been spent for the compensation. RSS
