Kathmandu : Pollution, contaminated waters and lack of sufficient food are the main causes of fish kill in Kamal Pokhari pond located in central part of Kathmandu valley, locals have said. Most of the fishes were relocated there from Rani Pokhari about two years ago, and they suddenly began dying in huge numbers.
A few dead fish started bellying up at Kamal Pokhari but the number swelled up so dramatically those residents around the pond and passers-by caught a whiff of a foul, rancid smell of dead fish, locals said to Face-to-Face. Our correspondents Amish Regmi and Shalik Bhatta reached there, and talked with locals and representatives of youth club to find out the actual reasons. See in video and pictures.
