Kathmandu–Taudaha Lake is one of the famous lakes located in outskirts of Kathmandu valley.
The name, Taudaha, comes from a combination of Newari words ‘Ta’, meaning snake and ‘Daha’, which means Lake of Snakes. The lake is not only rich in clean water but also in bio-diversity.
In the winter, hundreds of water birds can be seen in and around the lake, attracting domestic and international tourists. This is one of the important sites for Bird watching.
