Irrigation project benefits 180 households

Bejhad (Palpa) : The Damara-Bhotaha irrigation project has come into operation here providing uninterrupted irrigation facilities in 80 hectares of farmland.

As many as 180 farmers’ households have been benefited with the availability of irrigation facility. The irrigation project has been constructed at a cost of Rs 26 million with government support and local voluntary labour contribution. A nine kilometers long main irrigation canal has been constructed under the project.

The project uses water from the Baudikhola stream that forms the border between Palpa and Nawalpur. The irrigation project command area includes Damara, Bhotaha, Armalang, Purbamalang, Rahuban, Raika and Nawalpur Rakuwa. Rss
