Karnali Province holds consultation meeting with experts

Surkhet– Chief Minister and other ministers of the Karnali Province have held a consultation meeting with the experts’ team in Surkhet last night meant for budget implementation process and soliciting ideas for province’s development.

The meeting chaired by Chief Minister of Kanrali Province Mahendra Bahadur Shahi dwelt on the problems surfaced during the budget implementation. “Vital suggestions from expert group members have been received in the meeting for budget implementation,” Province Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives Bimala KC said.

“We will make the budget implementation process further effective by taking concrete decisions from the meeting of Council of Ministers,” Minister KC shared.

The experts group has suggested that the province government need to work in line with the existing Public Procurement Act and Regulations until the Province Public Procurement Act was enacted and prepare a procedure by using the constitutional rights regarding the areas that are not covered from the Act in the changed context.

Similarly, the experts group members have said that the Province Government is not barred to hire the technical human resources and consultants on contract basis to advance ahead the budget implementation process if need be.

Chief Minister Shahi, ministers Prakash Jwala, Naresh Bhandari, Dala Rawal, Khadka Bahadur Khatri, Nandasingh Budha and coordinator of the experts group Janardan Sharma, member Dr Punya Regmi, Dr Suresh Tiwari, Dr Kushendra Mahat, Dr Krishna Prasad Poudel, former attorney general Mukti Pradhan, former secretary Ram Prasad Thapaliya and others were present during the meeting.
