Three held for forging mountaineering permit

Kathmandu : The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police has arrested three persons and made them public for making fake mountain climbing permit.

The arrested ones are chief of law department of Seven Summit Treks, Bivesh Karki, marketing manager Furtenji Sherpa and accountant Bijayshwor Aryal. These three persons had prepared the fake mountain climbing permits by duplicating the permits taken by foreigners from the Tourism Department. They had prepared 14 fake permits mentioning the name of Chinese and Australian citizens.

The investigation to this was initiated after the Mt Everest pollution control committee found the same dates and permit numbers in the permits borne by different people.

Among the fake permits carrying climbers, two were foreigners- an Australian and a Chinese. According to the police, the investigation revealed that three arrested people had divided the 22,000 US dollars received for fake permits from the foreign Everest climbers.
Karki was held from Thamel while Aryal from Maharjgunj and Sherpa from Solukhumbu.
