Kathmandu : Kathmandu Municipal Corporation is to construct a ‘smart parking’ site with a capacity for 500 vehicles in New Road.
The KMC has called for a quotation for the contractors willing to construct the seven-storey parking building. The metropolis has allocated 1.1 ropani of land in Dharmapath, New Road for the parking building.
The completion of the building is expected to ease the problem of parking in the ever-busy New Road area. The building will be disabled-friendly, with sufficient space for waiting and rest, electronic charging station and vehicle cleaning and maintenance facility, according to chief of the KMC public-private partnership unit Mahesh Kafley.
