Rescuers battled fresh rains on July 26 to reach scores of people still missing after a dam collapse in southern Laos that unleashed a torrent of water, washing away whole villages and killing at least 26 people.
The Laotian prime minister said on July 25, that 131 people are still missing two days after a dam collapse swamped several villages in the country’s south. Authorities and the builder are investigating why a dam in southeastern Laos collapsed earlier this week.
