KATHMANDU: Altogether 24 people died in floods and landslides occurred in last three days across the country, according to Ministry of Home Affairs.
Ministry informed that 480 trained persons are in ready position to provide services for rescue the affected people. If people call us dialing 100, we will immediately reach the spot for service, Home Ministry official said.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, around 500 people die each year due to natural disasters every year in Nepal. These disasters include landslide, earthquake, fire, lightning strike, storms, hailstone, cold wave and avalanche.
Meanwhile, Province No 2 has decided to provide a support of Rs 50,000 immediately to each family losing a member in the recent floods and landslides.
The amount would be provided as relief from the Chief Minister Disaster relief fund. Two persons have so far lost their lives in the province owing to floods caused by heavy downpour in the recent days. Pratima Ram and Surendra Mahato from Gadhi Rural Municipality of Parsa died in the floods on Tuesday.
