KATHMANDU: Nepal Forum of Environmental Journalists (NEFEJ) has announced to jointly reward correspondents Chandan Kumar Mandal of The Kathmandu Post and Chhetu Sherpa of Annapurna Post with the Environment journalism Award 2017, which was established three decades ago.
On the occasion of World Environment day on June 5, NEFEJ select the best news product published or broadcast on newspapers, radio, TV and online portals throughout 2017 every year. However, the NEFEJ decided to provide the award for two persons jointly because of equal marks obtained on the basis of subject-wise diversity, data and facts, language, public concern and originality, according to NEFEJ.
The award selection committee coordinated by senior journalist Rajendra Dahal that includes Sharada Rijal, journalist and executive secretary, expert and environmentalist Surya Man Shakya evaluated the collected nominations.
