Lalitpur- Majority of crusher industries operating in Kathmandy valley have not heeded to calls for controlling pollution.
Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report has shown that the crusher industries have failed to live up by their commitment to control pollution, Safala Shrestha, Deputy Director at Department of Environment said.
The Department has been regularly monitoring the industries to check the level of pollution they are causing in the environment. “During the monitoring, we found that these industries have not used any kind of precautionary measures to control corruption,” Shrestha said. The Department has said it will recommend legal action based on inspection held after complaints at the local units. RSS
