The government is investigating into the property details of the public transport entrepreneurs and the office- bearers of Transport Entrepreneur Committee and Federation as well.
A meeting attended by Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa, Minister for Physical Planning and Transport Raghubir Mahaseth, Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Governor Dr Chiranjibi Nepal and other high level government officials today took this decision.
According to the decision, the process of investigation to this effect will be initiated by the Department of Money Laundering Investigation after receiving property details from the respective District Administration Offices and Department of Transport Management.
Similarly, the meeting has further decided to put on hold the bank accounts of the entrepreneurs who did not operate their vehicles supporting syndicate. The meeting also has urged the entrepreneurs to operate their vehicles ending strike.
Minister Mahaseth shared that a single vehicle could be registered in newly developed company system.
Minister duo Thapa and Masetha expressed readiness to address genuine demands including insurance of the entrepreneurs but remained reluctant to roll back the decision of ending syndicate system persisting in the transport sector. RSS
