The Province 7 government has announced to accord priority for environment protection while unveiling its annual plans and policies.
In its annual plans and policies made public on Wednesday, the province government has stated that a campaign would be launched with the participation of local level, community and the concerned stakeholders in order to turn the slogan, ‘Waste-free cleanliness, commitment of Province 7’, into a reality. Province Chief Mohan Raj Mall presented 18-point policies and programmes.
Similarly, the policies and programmes have also given priority for the conservation of community and other forests. “A policy will be formulated to make people’s access to forest for scientific management of community forest by amending the existing policies,” states the policies and programmes.
The religious and tourism sties of Province 7 would be identified and a policy would be formulated for the protection, promotion and minimum infrastructure of the sites. Also, a slogan has been made public stating that expansion of water, electricity and herbal medicine forest are the foundation for the prosperity of province 7.
“Climate friendly programs would be encouraged. The activities of controlling air, and sound pollution would be promoted. Potential places of the province would be identified and selected for exploration and study for generating hydropower in order to electrify the households,” states the annual policy document.
