Bagmati clean-up drive in 256th Week

The Bagmati Mega Cleaning Campaign, which was launched on May 19, 2013, has reached its 256th week on Saturday. The campaign is taking place in every week in various parts of the country. On Saturday, thirty-five tonnes of solid waste was amassed and managed from the rivers and Ring Road area of Kathmandu.

On Saturday, clean-up campaign took place in Thapathali, Gokarneswar, Ratopul, Kalanki Chowk, and other areas. Members of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, high-level government official and people from all walks of the lives are attending the campaign. The campaign has been expanded in 45 major cities of the country. Last year, Ring road clean-up campaign was launched along the ring road as part of Bagmati Clean-up campaign. Similarly, there separate clean-up campaigns are launched in different parts of country and there is spontaneous participation of people.
