At least 46 cows being protected at Shuklagandaki municipality-9, Ghari in Tanahun died due to several reasons.
Among the reasons behind the death are growing incidents of tiger attack and short of health care and nutrition. Lok Narayan Shrestha, chairperson, Shuklagandaki municipality-9, shared that 46 cows died at Protection Centre during the past three months.
He further informed that 20 cows alone were killed in tiger attack. The death incidents had increased due to lack of proper arrangement of feed.
The cow protection initiative was put in place at the cost of Rs 2 million, including Rs 1.7 million of the municipality and Rs 300,000 of the locals. RSS
