Now, most of the wards of the sub-metropolis have ponds and preparation was underway to construct pond in the remaining wards.
The Sub-Metropolitan City kept the pond construction in top priority after ponds started becoming the earning medium for villagers as they help promote agro, fishery and tourism business.
Engineer at the Sub-Metropolitan City, Ramdhan Shrestha, said that total of 15 ponds have already been constructed while preparation was underway to construct other five ponds.
The Sub-Metropolitan City had constructed 12 ponds at the area last year while three were already there and the Sub-Metropolitan City had spent around Rs 50 million for the same.
Engineer Shrestha said that around Rs 20 million has been estimated for the construction of additional five ponds.
Mayor Narulal Chaudhary said that ponds construction has been kept at high priority with an objective of facilitating farmers and making them commercial. RSS
