Kathmandu : Rain and snow is likely to occur in most parts of the country today due to the influence of the Westerly wind. The Westerly made an entry on Sunday.
The Meteorological Forecasting Division stated that there is the possibility of occurrence of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder in most places of the western part of the country.
Meteorologist Ganga Nagarkoti said that most places of the country were witnessing cloudy conditions and rainfall due to the influence of the Westerly that has consistently entered the country this year.
Rainfall is taking place in hilly districts Baitadi, Bajhang, Doti, Bajura and Darchula while snow is occurring in the high mountainous areas today.
The Westerly will begin to gradually recede from the far-western parts beginning midnight today before it completely exits from the east. Tonight the weather will be generally to completely cloudy with the occurrence of light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunder in many parts of the country.
The Division said there has been more than average winter rainfall this year.
On Thursday, the Division has forecasted partly to generally cloudy sky with the occurrence of light snowfall in the high mountainous areas in the eastern and central part of the country.
The weather will be partly cloudy in the hilly region and fair in the rest of the country on Friday. As per the latest temperature recorded by the Division, Kathmandu recorded minimum temperature of 8.6 degrees Celsius and maximum temperature of 22.5 degrees Celsius. Biratnagar recorded the highest maximum temperature at 28.4 degrees Celsius today. RSS
