Lalitpur : There has been no coordination with local levels in connection with the reconstruction of structures including heritage, school and health posts.
The local governments were not equipped with people’s elected representatives when the post-earthquake reconstruction came into effect. However, coordination is not gaining any momentum right now when the local governments got elected representatives over a year back. The local governments are not informed of the reconstruction drive of public properties in lack of coordination between National Reconstruction Authority and local governments.
People’s representatives complained that the local governments are being consulted to resolve any problems arise in course of reconstruction drive or to receive recommendation or hand over the reconstructed or renovated structures.
It is shared that the drive would take pace if the responsibility for monitoring reconstruction works is given to the local government. RSS
