District High-Court , Tulsipur orders control of sound and dust pollution

Ranjha : The District High-Court Tulsipur has issued a mandamus order in the name of the concerned authorities to curb smoke and dust pollution coming from Nepalgunj Industrial Area (NIA).

A bench of Justices Prem Raj Karki and Shanti Singh on Wednesday issued the interim order towards this effect.

Advocates Lok Bahadur Shah and Pawan Kumar Gupta on June 2 had filed a writ in the Court for the same, arguing that smoke and dust pollution emanating from the NIA had deprived people here of their rights to live in a clean and healthy environment.

The advocate duo, in their writ, had argued that it was imperative to protect the rights of the public to live in a clean environment and demanded prohibitory order and mandamus order against the defendant, shared Lok Bahadur Shah who filed the application.

Shah informed that the writ case was filed against the NIA Management Office, Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan Office, District Administration Office, Banke and the Chief of the above-mentioned offices. RSS
