Kathmandu : The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has signed Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with three hydropower projects with altogether 140 mega watt capacity.
According to Spokesperson of NEA Prabal Adhikari, the Authority today signed PPA with 70-mega watt Super Trishuli hydropower project to be promoted by Blue Energy.
NEA Managing Director Kulman Ghishing and Blue Energy’s Executive Director Barun Sharaff singed the PPA. According to the PPA, the electricity generated by this hydropower project would be purchased by NEA at Rs 8.40 per unit during the winter while Rs 4.80 during the summer.
The construction of project would begin within 6 months, shared Blue Energy.
Likewise, PPA was signed with 65-mega watt Dudhkhola hydropower project to be built in Manang district.
NEA’s Managing Director Ghising and Dudhkhola Hydel’s Promoter Sita Hydro Power Company’s Director Satish Timalsina signed the PPA.
Similarly, PPA was signed to purchase electricity to be generated from 4.55 mega watt Machhekhola Hydropower Project. Bikash Hydro Power Project is promoting this hydel. RSS
