Kathmandu : Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Padma Kumari Aryal has claimed that the issues relating to the landless squatters in the country would be addressed within five years.
Inaugurating a motorable bridge over the Mengkhola that connects Birwa Rural Muncipality-1 in Syangja district and Dulegauda in Tanahu district on Sunday, Minister Aryal shared that the formulation of policy about land use had reached the final phase.
Aryal reaffirmed her commitment that the landless squatters’ issue would be addressed within five years by considering amendment in the Land Act.
She also expressed her commitment that the land record purification process at the offices of Land Revenue and Land Survey would be implemented strictly.
The Minister also warned that action would be taken against those civil employees dillydallying in rendering services to the public seeking services from the offices of Land Revenue and Land Survey and those encroaching upon the public land.
According to her, the government was effortful to enhance the capacity of the cooperatives and streamline them.
National Assembly member Khim Bahadur Bishwakarma, Province Assembly member Min Prasad Gurung, Deepak Charti Magar among others also addressed the event.
The newly inaugurated bridge was built at the cost of nearly Rs 30 million. With the construction of the bridge, transportation for the locals would be easier. RSS
