Kathmandu– Chairman of National Assembly Ganesh Timilsena has said that the smart cities to be developed should be technology-friendly.
At a programme on Smart City organized in the capital city on Saturday, Chairman Timilsena said that the new cities should be developed by carrying out thorough study, research and assessment of the national and international practices, and align them with science and technology.
He argued that all three levels of government should work for clean and green new cities and suggested that the development works should be carried out on the basis of priority, not on access to the power.
During the event, Dr Sunil Bahadur Shrestha presented a working paper on ‘Smart City, New Town Planning’ and said that 50 per cent of the total income of most of the municipalities and metropolitan cities is spent on garbage management. RSS
