Biratnagar : A meeting of the State Assembly of Province-1 has unanimously endorsed the bill relating to disaster management.
In the State Assembly meeting of the Province-1 held today, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Hikmat Karki tabled the motion seeking endorsement of the bill outlined for the management of disaster in line with the rule 108 of Province Assembly Regulation.
Earlier, taking part in the zero hour of the meeting, State Assembly member Sabitra Regmi demanded up-gradation of the Koshi Zonal Hospital to ease health services to the people of Nepal and India.
Likewise, another member of the State Assembly Sunita Kumari Chaudhary urged the province government to grant public holiday on Jitiya Festival of indigenous nationalities.
Taking special time, chief whip of Nepali Congress Kedar Karki demanded naming of the Province-1 and designating its permanent capital. He also urged the government to work in a way that would not erode public trust on federalism.
Next meeting of the state assembly will take place at 1:00 pm on September 6. RSS
