Karnali province’s Chief Minister stresses on sanitation

Surkhet, Aug 25 (RSS): The Chief Minister of Karnali province government, Mahendra Bahadur Shahi, has said sanitation is the identity of a civilized society.

Inaugurating the City Sanitation Programme organised by Nepal Manab Dharma Sewa Samiti here today, he said maintaining cleanliness helped build a clean, healthy, livable and civilized society.

“Where there is sanitation, that place’s attraction is enhanced and the place and society concerned is benefited from this,” he said and called upon all to extend cooperation in building a sound, peaceful and ideal society.

Noting that committing good deeds and bad deeds were both in our own hands, Chief Minister Shahi exhorted all to lend a hand in building a prosperous Karnali Province.

“Let us all join our hands. Let us plant trees, flowers and change our orientations. The province government has made a policy decision to observe two days in a month as the work day for building a prosperous Karnali province.

Samiti’s Surkhet chapter president Santa Mahatma Shree Nirmala Baiji said that every person should be pure from the heart and that materialism and spiritualism should be balanced for building a peaceful and civilized society. Let us make morality the main fulcrum and move ahead, Baiji said.

Birendranagar Municipality mayor Dev Kumar Subedi was also present on the occasion. The Nepalese Army, Nepal Police, the Armed Police Force and youth volunteers also participated in the programme. RSS
