Dolakha : The Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Project has sought application from the district people affected by the project from Wednesday for over 10 million units of shares allocated to them through the initial public offering.
The last date to apply for the shares is August 30. Application can be filed through various banks in 19 different places in the district, and for the local people living in Kathmandu, they can apply from various 11 collection centers set up by Sunrise Bank. The applicants can apply for minimum 30 units of shares to maximum 300 each.
Meanwhile, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Barsha Man Pun on Wednesday said the country’s exemplary Tamakoshi Project has encouraged other hydropower projects. He also pledged to complete the construction of the project within the current fiscal year.
He was speaking at a programme organised in the district headquarters, Charikot to mark the beginning of the share distribution allocated by the Hydropower Project to the affected local people.
He pointed out that the concept of social justice and good governance are needed for development and prosperity. RSS
