Kathmandu- The task of rope fixing on Mt. Everest has reached a final stage, according to government officials.
Icefall doctors are all set to open the climbing route to the summit point on Sunday if there is an appropriate climate.
Gyanendra Sherstha, an official at Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation informed that rope fixing will be completed soon.
More than 240 climbers along with their high altitude workers are all set to attempt to stand atop the Mt Everest once the rope fixing team opens the route. Climbers have already completed accimatisation rotations to make final summit pushes.
Officials have said that they have introduced new measures to ensure the safety of climbers. Iceball doctors started to fix the rope for this season from second third week of March.
