Transport entrepreneurs halt services

Kathmandu– Normal life in Kathmandu valley has been affected due to the transport strike called by transport committees in protest against government’s decision to crackdown syndicate system in public transport.

Transport committees have halted their services.  People are supporting government’s move but they are expressing displeasure over the government’s failure to make alternative arrangements to tackle the strike of transport committees.  Earlier, government ministries and officials had assured to make alternative arrangements of transport if transport committees go for strike.  Private vehicles are suffering lift to people but that is not sufficient.

Bus companies Mayur Yatayat , Sajha Yatayat among others are operating their buses. Department of Transport Managed has requested all concerned to operate bus, saying that necessary security arrangements have been ensured.
