Kathmandu- Nepal Forum of Environmental Journalists (NEFEJ) has recommended the Parliamentary Committee to monitor the deformities and irregularities seen in the process associated with the implementation of Scientific Forest Management (SFM).
NEFEJ has put forward its official position before the Agriculture, cooperative and Natural resources Committee of the Federal Parliament on August 13 and made 12-point suggestions.
NEFEJ said that the scientific forest management system was not bad in itself and that the problem was due to the intentions of the participating bodies and some people involved in its implementation.
NEFEJ said that while it is natural to see problems at the beginning when implementing any management system, such problems should be solved gradually. It has also urged to take immediate action against the irregularities in its implementation and anyone involved in it.
