He was speaking at a concluding ceremony of the 9th World Ranger Congress in Sauraha on Saturday evening. He said he was assured that the participants has been informed of Nepal rich in biology and natural and cultural beauty, while expressing the hope that the Visit Nepal Year would be fruitful in spreading the message of the importance of Nepal’s tourism to the world.
On the occasion, expressing the hope that the conference would bear fruit in the conservation sector, the minister offered his gratitude to all conservationists who have contributed to the conservation of forests and wildlife across the globe.
Likewise on the occasion, newly appointed President of the International Ranger Federation (IRF) Chris Gills pledged that the IRF would move ahead by embracing suggestions and conclusions from the meeting. Secretary at the Ministry of Forest and Environment Dr Bishwa Nath Oli expressed his happiness at successful conclusion of the discussion.
The conference issued a Chitwan Declaration 2019 stressing the need for conserving wildlife for the future generation by reaching world cooperation in curving wildlife poaching and its illegal trade.
Inaugurated by former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on November 12 in a touristic area, Sauraha, a total of 526 representatives from 72 countries including Nepal participated in the conference. RSS
