Bajhang : Four workers hired for the construction of Kalanga Hydropower Project based in Bungal have got trapped in an underground tunnel of the project since Sunday afternoon.
They are Mahendra Shahi and Karna Shahi of Gurans rural municipality-3, Dailekh; Mahendra Saud of Turmakhand rural municipality-6, Achham and Sher Singh Dhami of Bungal municipality-1 in Bajhang, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Ganesh Bahadur Bam.
A squad comprising Chief District Officer Umesh Pandey, the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police personnel has already left for the site. Until the filing of this report, an NA helicopter has already reached the site to undertake rescue works.
The 65-megawatt project has been under construction since the past five years and presently tunnel digging works are going on. RSS
