According to the Baglung Town Drinking Water User Cooperative’s Manager Himal Sharma, the Seradil Barrack 23 number Sainik Adda’s support was sought to repair the pipeline that was temporarily put in wake of the landslide. The NA has been mobilizing its engineering resources to repair the pipe that brings water to the Baglung Bazar from Resha in Kothekhola Rural Municipality-7 in the district.
Although additional water supply was also ensured from the source of Rithe Khola, Resh Khola and Bhudi Khola, the locals here would often reel under drinking water shortage since the incident as the supply of water used to be scant. Rithe Khola supplies 3.5 litre water per sec, Resh Khola 17 litre per sec and Bhudi Khola 17 litre per second.
Still, the supply of water was insufficient to cater to the demand of the consumers, shared Manager Sharma. The NA was mobilized due to its competence in conducing the development works on time and with the usage of its inherent resources and engineering prowess, added Drinking Water User Cooperative’s Chairperson Hari Prasad Shrestha.
Shrestha shared that the NA was ferrying rocks to the landslide-hit areas and identify the gabion in that area. A team of 17 NA personnel have been mobilized to put in place the strong water supply pipe to ensure smooth drinking water supply to the thirst-stricken Baglung folks. RSS
