Kathmandu : The 40th World Tourism Day is being celebrated in Nepal by organizing different programmes. With the slogan ‘Tourism and Jobs: A Better Future for All’, the day is being widely celebrated under the aegis of government and tourism entrepreneurs.
The day celebration main organizing committee hosted a morning rally today as part of the marking of the day. The rally that started from the premises of Thamel-based Employees Provident Fund with bands was converted into a formal programme at the Republic Monument in the eastern part of the Narayanhiti Palace.
High-placed officials of Minster for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, tourism entrepreneurs and organizations as well as general public took part in the rally. Meanwhile, a formal event is currently taking place at Republic Park in Naagpokhari.
Minster of State for Tourism Dhan Bahadur Budha inaugurated the main function of the tourism day jointly hosted by Tourism Ministry, Nepal Tourism Board and Visit Nepal Secretariat. September 27 is being celebrated as World Tourism Day at the call of United Nations World Tourism Association. Nepal has set a target to bring in two million foreign tourists by 2020 – the visit Nepal year. RSS
