Bhaktapur : Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Banskota has urged the authority concerned to adopt measures to control landslides.
While inspecting the landslide affected area at Loakanthali in the district on Tuesday, Minister Banskota urged the concerned offices not to take timely measures to prevent the landslide. Five houses were put at high risk when a landslide took place at Madhyapurthimi municipality-1 on Tuesday morning.
It was caused because of a ditch dug for the construction of underground water tank. A team comprising Member of House of Representatives, Mahesh Basnet, Chief District Officer, Narayan Bhatta, Mayor of Madhyapurthimi municipality, Madan Sundar Shrestha, chiefs of security bodies, and chiefs of Nepal Electricity Authority and Nepal Water Supply Corporation inspected the site this morning.
