Kawasoti – A statue of a tiger has been constructed and installed at Amaltari in ward no. 15 of Kawasoti municipality. The life-size statue of the tiger was constructed with financial support from the Gandaki state government.
The 5 feet tall and 13 feet wide statute is the largest tiger statue of Nepal, claimed Dhaniram Gurau. The ministry of tourism, forest and environment contributed one million rupees for the construction of the statue, with the objective of making it an attraction of tourists visiting Amaltari region.
Amaltari falls in the buffer zone of Chitwan National Park, and is famous for watching Rhinos. However, the construction of the tiger statue will help promote the area as a habitat of tigers as well, Gurau said.
