Reconstruction of 70 government and public buildings completely damaged in the 2015 Gorkha earthquake has been completed. According to the National Reconstruction Authority, reconstruction of 30 buildings was carried out from government resources and 40 with loan assistance of Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Project Director of Central Project Implementation Unit (Building), Nabaraj Pyakurel said 12 more buildings are being constructed with government resources and would be completed within the current fiscal year. Similarly, reconstruction of remaining 29 buildings, which are under-construction with ADB support would be completed within Poush of 2076 BS.
NRA’s Chief Executive Officer, Sushil Gyawali, said that the NRA has moved ahead with a plan for the reconstruction of remaining quake damaged structures including government buildings on time. At a review programme organised here on Wednesday, it was shared that 253 structures that suffered partial damages by the earthquake have been repaired and maintained. RSS
