The Chandannath municipality in Jumla has honoured two local-level entrepreneurs with the ‘Chief Minister Outstanding Agricultural Award’.
Those awarded are Rita Chaulagai of Malabhid, Chandannath-4 and Lok Bahadur Rokaya of Shanti Nagar of Chandannath-3. They received Rs 15,000 each, municipality mayor Kantika Sejuwal said. Chaulagain is the proprietor of Malabhid-based Lokmani Poultry Industry and Rokaya is involved in goat keeping.
“The award is meant for encouraging local entrepreneurs and farmers,” said the mayor. The data shows that in the current fiscal year 402 micro scale, cottage and small industries were registered in this district and 1,484 people are employed there. The trend of opening new cottage industries is on the rise in the district, according to the Department of Cottage and Small Industries, Jumla. RSS
